During summer camp, children experience practical life materials that support independence, developing fine motor skills, sequencing, order, and caring for the classroom and self. Your children will continue with flower arranging, dusting, sweeping, mopping, watercolors, pastels, painting, sewing, and other art activities. Our School Garden offers the children the perfect opportunity for growing and harvesting vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Peeling and cutting cucumbers for snacks, preparing eggplant, using fresh herbs to bake bread, making pickles and delicious bruschetta are just a few of the food experiences we offer the children.
Summer is all about fun and presents an opportunity for your children to relax and enjoy their time while still “working” and independently caring for themselves, peers, and the classroom. At our DRMS Summer Camp, you’re currently enrolled YCC and Primary-aged children will experience:
A Montessori primary classroom
Daily baking activities
Gardening
A variety of arts and crafts
Water play (bathing suits, sprinklers, and buckets!)
A comfortable space with familiar adults and students
Summer camp is offered five days a week from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm with the option of After Care until 5:00 pm. You can choose between individual weeks or the entire summer program.
