The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.
Elementary Teacher
Nico is the newest staff member to the DRMS team. Originally from Colombia, he has wholeheartedly embraced the United States as his home since 2010.
Over the past three years, Nico has dedicated himself to applying Maria Montessori's humanistic principles and philosophy in the elementary classroom, guiding children in their exploration and discovery of themselves and the world around them. Prior to his Montessori journey, Nico worked closely with young adults with disabilities, fostering their growth and independence in a community setting. Additionally, he has also shared his love for music and strategy as a private guitar and chess tutor.
Beyond the classroom, Nico is a devoted nutrition and health coach, empowering individuals to optimize their well-being by cultivating positive habits. His curiosity knows no bounds, with interests spanning biochemistry, quantum biology, human metabolism, and humanistic psychology. Mr. Franco sees himself as a life-long learner and finds great joy in sharing this love of learning with children.
