The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.
Director of Education
Lucia is an AMI-trained guide with more than 15 years of experience working with children and their families. Born and raised in Salta, Argentina, Lucia received her AMI Montessori Diploma from FAMM (Fundación Argentina María Montessori) in Buenos Aires. Before moving to the US in 2023, Lucia worked in Montessori schools in Buenos Aires, London, Madrid, and Barcelona, with experience as a guide in Nido, Toddler, and Primary and as an Administrator. Lucia helped establish Montessori Esplugues, L'Escoleta de la Vila, which means the Little School of the Village in Catalan - a small, very family-oriented, and community-focused school that serves children from Nido to Elementary.
Lucia is an avid traveler, a foodie, and an art lover. She lives in Del Ray with her husband Paul and their dog Ollie.
